Founded in 1983, the Summary of Recent Mississippi Law CLE is the authority on developments in Mississippi law from year to year.

For the last decade, Professor Farish Percy has led the program with additional sessions by some of Mississippi’s preeminent legal experts. The CLE is held each year in Oxford, Jackson and Biloxi, as well as online.

This CLE program provides in-depth coverage of recent Mississippi civil law in the areas of civil practice and procedure, torts, evidence, real property, family law and insurance. The presentations cover recent Mississippi civil cases and legislation in these areas. In addition, the program devotes one hour to ethics, professional responsibility and malpractice prevention.

Attendees also receive a comprehensive book summarizing important legal developments and their potential impacts as discussed during the program—as well as issues not covered during the sessions. Many attorneys refer to the book—and insights from the program—as a go-to reference throughout the year.

The CLE was founded by two of Mississippi’s most respected law professors, Guthrie Abbott and Robert Weems. The CLE is now sponsored by Mississippi Law CLE, LLC.
